It is my pleasure as the President of the Iota Lambda Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated to welcome you to our website. Please use this tool to inquire about our national and chapter programs, service initiatives, and our distinct impact on not only the University of Florida campus, but also in the community.
In 1908, Alpha Kappa Alpha began to pave the way for a dynamic change in history through sisterhood, scholarship and service to all mankind. While the Sorority's pillars remain the same, Alpha Kappa Alpha is constantly challenging herself to continue helping those of the community.
The Iota Lambda chapter was chartered on May 17, 1975 by the 25 Pearls of Distinction. We have been going 37 years strong, while keeping our chapter's principle focus of uplifting the community through service, philanthropic efforts and scholarly deeds. By effectively implementing Alpha Kappa Alpha's Global Leadership Through Timeless Service Program, our chapter continues to leave a legacy of societal enrichment. We enhance the world in which we live by efficiently programming for the Six Initiatives: Emerging Young Leaders, Health, Global Poverty, Economic Security, Social Justice and Human Rights, and Internal Leadership Training for External Service.
As our beloved Sorority celebrates 104 years of sisterhood, scholarship and service, it is Iota Lambda's goal and sole responsibility to uphold the legacy set before us. Our chapter prides itself on campus scholarship and leadership, innovative programming and maintaining an integral contribution in the surrounding Gainesville community.
Once again, thank you for visiting our website. Our chapter appreciates your overwhelming support. Please be sure to check the site for updated information!
